Transfer Students

Transfer Connections is a University-wide initiative aimed towards improving the transfer student experience at the University of Connecticut. We understand that transfer students are not new to college, yet still undergo a transition that comes with its own unique challenges and opportunities. Our goal is to assist you during this process to ensure your needs are met. This resource has been developed and implemented by voluntary staff across the University, as well as student leaders who have successfully navigated the transfer process.

Non-Degree Students

Non-Degree Study allows individuals who have not been formally accepted into degree-seeking status at the University of Connecticut to take undergraduate or graduate-level credit courses. Classes are offered days, evenings, and weekends at our five campuses and online.

Campus Change Students

Welcome Students! Here you will find information regarding the campus change process, including moving from Storrs to a Regional Campus, moving from a Regional Campus to Storrs, and the resources available!

Returning Students

To return to the University, after a gap in a student’s enrollment, the student must complete an application for readmission.

Honors Students

The Honors Program is committed to serving its students, faculty, and staff during this pandemic. Honors is one of several Enrichment Programs available to UConn undergraduates. The Honors learning community brings together a diverse group of highly talented undergraduates from across UConn’s schools and colleges, each with a record of significant academic success and engagement.

Students of Color

This pilot program is borne from the recognition that students of color often lack support and community at predominantly white institutions (PWIs) like UConn. The additional difficulties of navigating a global pandemic, widespread economic uncertainty, and visible anti-Black and anti-Asian racism highlighted the urgent necessity for creating a nurturing community and space for students where they can grow and thrive within their own departments. Our program offers alumni mentors the opportunities for community building and creates the change we all desire and need at UConn.

Transgender Students

Student Health and Wellness – Mental Health is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for the UConn community.  We celebrate and honor the uniqueness and diversity of all individuals. We promote social justice and inclusivity throughout UConn and the broader global community through our clinical, outreach, and training services.

Students with Disabilities

Through the integration of teaching, research, and service, it is the mission of the University of Connecticut to provide an outstanding educational experience for each student. The mission of the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) is to enhance this experience for students with disabilities. Our goal is to ensure a comprehensively accessible University experience where individuals with disabilities have the same access to programs, opportunities and activities as all others. The Center is also committed to promoting access and awareness as a resource to all members of the community.

Student Athletes

The Student-Athlete Success Program (SASP) recognizes the unique needs of the student-athlete and provides an individualized, holistic approach to supporting their efforts to reach their full potential academically, personally, and athletically during their time at UConn.  SASP works collaboratively with the UConn community to help our student-athletes as they transition into the university, progress through their coursework, receive their diploma, and move on to succeed in graduate school, the work force, or to compete at the next level.  SASP supports the overall mission of the university, helping every student-athlete grow intellectually in their effort toward earning a degree from UConn and becoming productive members of their communities.

Veteran and Military Students

The University of Connecticut welcomes all veterans, active duty, guardsmen, and reservists to apply to and consider enrollment at UConn. Given the incredible service to our country, active-duty personnel and veterans are often very competitive candidates for admission.  As a part of the admissions and transfer credit process, UConn strives to acknowledge this service as students enter the University.
